The new Ace 1500 SL is a British-built two-berth motorhome on the Ford Transit chassis. This one has the two most popular factory options fitted: the 165bhp 8-speed automatic gearbox and the Comfort Pack. With a MTPLM of 3500kg, it can be driven on a standard car licence.

Effortless to drive
Power comes from Ford’s 2.0 litre EcoBlue engine, upgraded to 165bhp and paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox with a rotary gear selector, which makes long journeys relaxed. The cab has cruise control, automatic air conditioning, lane keeping, a front parking aid, a digital dash and swivelling captain’s chairs. The Comfort Pack adds Moondust Silver cab paint, 16" alloy wheels with locking wheel nuts and Ford’s 12" SYNC 4 touchscreen with DAB, Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™, plus a rear reversing camera.

Built to last, all year round
Ace’s SMART construction uses a timberless polyurethane frame inside a full GRP bodyshell. That includes a hail-resistant GRP roof and a GRP-skinned floor, so there’s no wood to rot. It has Grade 3 heating and insulation, cold-chamber tested for sub-zero temperatures, and comes with a 6-year bodyshell warranty.

Inside
The front parallel lounge sits under an opening panoramic sunroof, with storage beneath that you can also reach from outside. The new Granite soft furnishings use stain-resistant fabrics, set against Oxford Tweed furniture, with 2110mm of headroom. The fixed beds have Duvalay Duvalite Alto mattresses, and an infill over the steps adds extra sleeping space. The Comfort Pack adds carpets, scatter cushions and cab blinds.

The kitchen has a Thetford Triplex oven and grill, a three-burner hob, a 133-litre Dometic fridge with a separate freezer compartment and a lift-up worktop extension. The washroom has a separate shower cubicle with an Ecocamel Jetstorm showerhead and an illuminated shower panel, plus a Thetford electric-flush toilet. The Comfort Pack adds a shower duckboard and a hanging rail.
